JB Log Homes - About Our
Model
 You may have noticed the print on the
bottom of this page. This
is the actual elevation plans of our log home. We started with a plan
that was at the time called Elk Ridge and is now the Chesapeake. What we took from the plan was
the front country cabin look and the large back windows look. Everything
in between we customized to what we felt was our dream home.
Our house consists of a main floor at
roughly 1700 square feet. The second floor consists of about 1100 square
feet. We also have an unfinished basement of 1700 square feet with
access to 8x8 storm room. On top of this we have 704 square feet of
covered porch and roughly 640 feet of uncovered deck.
One thing
that was important to us was a feeling of WOW when you walked through
the front door. To achieve this we made a front entry with about a 22
foot cathedral ceiling. A catwalk separates the upstairs
 levels
through the middle of the home. As you walk in, your eyes stare off into
the living room that consist of
15 windows revealing the spectacular
view.
Our home is still a work in progress. We
still have a master bath that is in the process of being completed.
There are several other projects throughout still needing to be
completed. This lack of completion is due to the huge amount of sweat
equity that we chose to incorporate into our dream home. We have future
plans of adding a 3 car garage with a breeze way in the near future.
